Chief Minister honours Mountaineering Police Team that successfully scaled Mt. Everest

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat attended the ‘Flag-in ceremony’ of the Mount Everest Mountaineering Campaign 2018 by Uttarakhand Police team, held at Police Line, Dehradun. Chief Minister honoured the 15 members of the Uttarakhand police, who had gone to scale Mt Everest with commendation letter. The eight members of the Uttarakhand Police Team, who successfully scaled the Mt. Everest includes 6 constables, 1 Inspector and 1 mini fireman. Chief Minister announced promotion of six constables to the post of head constable and one increment each to the Inspector and mini fireman.

Chief Minister also announced Rs 5 lakh for Police Team that went to Mt. Everest. The constables who will be promoted includes Vijendra Prasad Kala, Manoj Joshi, Suryakant Uniyal, Vijendra Kudial, Praveen Singh and Yogesh Rawat. Inspector Sanjay Uperiti and mini fireman Ravi Chauhan would get increment.

Chief Minister said that by successfully scaling Mt. Everest, Uttarakhand Police Team has achieved a historic feat. He said that Uttarakkhand police are the first police force in the country to successfully scale Mt. Everest. He said that the state will always need experienced and brave soldiers. Participation in such campaigns increases the morale of the soldiers and they learn new experiences. He said that it is important to run such campaigns from time to time. He further said that apart from being a hill state, Uttarakhand is also sensitive from the disaster point of view. He asserted that along with the development of the technology for disaster management, there is need for the trained people as well. For this, the state government is making all efforts.

 Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal kumar Singh congratulating the Uttarakhand police team for successfully scaling Mount Everest peak said that it was due to firm determination and self –confidence of the jawans that the expedition was successful. He said that there are immense opportunities to work in Uttarakhand and the people of the state have the capacity. He further said that the police team has given a message of team spirit and we have to work in team spirit for the welfare of the people.

DGP Anil Raturi said that despite limited resources, Uttarakhand police team by scaling the highest peak has made Uttarakhand state and Uttarakhand police proud. He said that after such an adventurous campaign, the jawans would be benefitted by their experiences in future also.  He thanked the Chief Minister and administrative officials for their support in making the expedition a success.

Munna Singh Chauhan, MLA, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Principal Secretary Home Anandn Vardhan, Secretary Finance Amit Negi, Additional Director Generals of Police Ashok Kumar and Ram Singh Meena, leader of the Everest expedition Sanjay Gunjial, Deputy leader Navneet Singh and others were present on the occasion.
