Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat launch aerostat internet technology ballon

Dehradun: A big initiative was taken in the field of internet technology in Uttarakhand.  Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat successfully launched aerostat technology ballon at a function held at IT, Park, Dehradun. The ITDA with support from IIT, Mumbai has for the first time in the country did this unique experiment of aerostat to make it technical possible.

Chief Minister said that those areas, which has not yet been linked with information and internet technology will be given priority in aerostat ballon. Such areas will be provided internet facilities through ballon technique. He said that keeping in view the tough geographical conditions, ballon technology will be helpful. He further said that Uttarakhand is vulnerable to natural disasters and in case of any emergency such a technology will be useful in contacting people in such areas.

Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to provide information and communication technology as per the desires of the next generation. Remote villages like Ghes have been made digital village. Ghes has been connected with Apollo Hospital through Tele-Medicine. The villages of Uttarakhand are situated far away. Providing internet technology to scattered populations is not profitable for private companies. He said that lost cost balloon technique is extremely conducive for providing internet facility in the rural areas. It was informed that with the cooperation of IIT Mumbai, the Information Technology Development Agency (ITDA), for the first time has successfully used aerostat in the country.

In this, connectivity platform would be provided through state wide area network (SWAN). Aerostat balloon is a celestial platform in which the gas even lighter than available in the environment, is filled and raised high in the sky. The balloon is connected to the surface with the help of a rope and through various mechanisms, it remains in the atmosphere without fuel for a long time. Due to the quality of the minimum vibration of the balloon, it can be used for communication, aerial monitoring, climate monitoring, and other such works. The balloon can be installed in the appropriate vehicle and taken from one place to another, as required, can be activated in less time. In emergency situations, the equipment involved in this technology can be used through solar energy. The maximum area affected by a balloon can be covered, under which data speed can be obtained up to 5 Mbps. Through this, it will facilitate the communication system in emergency situations, communication system during the relief works in the disaster affected areas and the finding the persons in mishaps through celestial surveillance.

In the programme, MLA Ganesh Joshi, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, Secretary Amit Negi, RK Sudhanshu, Director ITDA Amit Sinha, IIT Mumbai Professor RS Pant and others were present.
