Country proud of bravery of Indian Soldiers: CM Rawat

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Indian soldiers are the pride of the country and we all are proud of their bravery. He said that serving the country as a soldier is a noble work. Chief Minister was addressing the pledge ceremony of the Indian army at Somnath grounds at Ranikhet on Monday.

Chief Minister said that another glorious chapter of Kumoan and Naga regiments of the Indian army has been added today. He said that soldiers steeped in patriotism, marching on the tune of the bands have shown the best example of discipline. He further said that our soldiers have always played a stellar role in defending the unity of the country on the borders. The Chief Minister said that serving the country as a soldier is a noble work but the life of a soldiers is tough.

Addressing the soldiers, he said that you should be eager to put in hard work for serving the country, similar to the hard work put in during your training.

Chief Minister said that the jawans by joining the army to serve the country has taken an important decision in their lives. He said that his late father Partap Singh Rawat was also a soldier and he was aware of the glorious tradition of the Indian army.  The soldiers from ‘Devbhoomi’ by their bravery and sacrifices have made the state as well as the country proud. He hoped that the newly recruited jawans will maintain the great traditions of the army.

A pledge parade for 155 jawans of the Indian army were organized at Somnath grounds on Monday. Out of these 155 jawans, 67 are from Uttarakhand and the rest are from Maharasthra, Bihar, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and other states. Those of the recruits who did well during their training were honoured with special medals. These include Mahesh Airy, Rohit Chilwal, Pardeep Mehra, Vishal singh, Atul Joshi, Ramesh Kumar and Pankaj Singh.

 The religious guru Ganesh Dutt Joshi along with colleagues administered oath to the recruits on national flag and Gita. Chief minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat, chief guest on the occasion along with Lt. Gen. B.S. Sehrawat,Sena Medal Colonel of the regiment and Commandant Brig. G.S. Rathore took salute at the parade. Vikas Kumar was the commander of the parade.

Those who participated include Col. Neeraj Sood, Shaurya Chakra, working deputy Commandant KRC and TBC training battalion Lt. Col, Nakshtra Bhandari, JCO1 ( training ), Lt. Col. Vijay Narsimhan, Education officer, all the officers of the centre, Almora District Magistrate Eva Ashish, SSP P. Renuka Devi, joint Magistrate Himanshu Khurana, Additional District Magistrate K.S.Tolia, BJP state President Ajay Bhatt, Mussoorie MLA ganesh Joshi and BJP district president Govind Singh Pilkhwal, parents of the recruits and other staff along with other guests. The programme was compered by Laxman Singh and Pratibha Awasthi.
