Minister Rawat takes meeting regarding State Consolidated Co-operative Development Project

Dehradun: Minister of State for Co-operatives, Higher Education, Dairy Development & Protocol (Independent Charge) Dhan Singh Rawat held a meeting in connection with the State Consolidated Co-operative Development Project in the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Mothrowala. In the meeting, Co-operative Secretary R. Meenakshi Sundram presented a DPR of Rs 3500 crores for the co-operative sector. The work plan was presented through power point. Its purpose is to strengthen the co-operative sector institutions through the integrated co-operative development project.

The objective of the said scheme is to prevent migration from the hill areas, increasing employment and business opportunities, improving the standard of living and revive the defunct co-operative societies.
Multipurpose Instrument Co-operative Society will be the center for social and economic activities for the villages. The objective of this action plan is to make banking competitive, facilitate easy banking and provide public beneficial facility. The purpose of the said scheme is to do marketing, branding of hill products through co-operative marketing societies. Apart from this, allied agriculture sector, sheep, goat, pisciculture, silk and dairy and tourism etc have to be funded.

On this occasion, MLA Dewan Singh Bisht, Gopal Singh Rawat, Sanjeev Arya, Naveen Chandra Dumka, Balwant Singh Bhouryal and President Co-operative Society Dan Singh Rawat, President UCF Ghanshyam Nautiyal, Registrar B.M Mishra and Presidents of all top institutions, Additional Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Managing Director of all the top institutions etc. were present.
