Shri Satpal Maharaj showcases Uttarakhand in Dubai

Dehradun:- Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Shri Satpal Maharaj today said Uttarakhand has been blessed by nature, making it a cynosure of all tourists.

Addressing a Press Meet on the second day of four day Arabian Travel Market 2022 being held in Dubai, Shri Satpal Maharaj said Uttarakhand has been gifted with immense natural beauty, which is always a tourist’s delight.

He said Uttarakhand has some of the most scenic sites. Particularly referring to Gartang Gali in Uttarakashi district of Uttarakhand, Shri Satpal Maharaj said Gartang Gali has been opened up for tourists and more such sites are being opened. He said film makers are also being invited to explore film shooting potential of various scenic sites in the state.

He also reminded the mediapersons about the Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh. “Beatles composed some of the most iconic songs at Beatles Ashram in Rishikesh in Uttarakhand, which includes a song on Dehradun”, Maharaj pointed out.

Referring to Chopta in Rudraprayag district, the Tourism Minister said a place with unparalleled beauty, Chopta has thick Rhododendron forests. “During flowering, it looks as if Nandadevi has worn a red cloth. Such is the beauty of Chopta”, he added.

Shri Maharaj said an International Airport is being developed in Haridwar and the day is not far when one will have Ganga flights, Meditation flights and Char dham flights operating from Haridwar.

He also stressed on efforts of the Uttarakhand government towards promoting the setting up of the homestays and the local cuisine among tourists. “We are giving incentives to the locals for setting up homestays under Deendayal Homestay Scheme. Local cuisine that has immense health benefits is also being promoted”, he added. He also said Uttarakhand was set to see a record breaking char dham yatra this year taking into account the volume of pilgrims arriving in the state for the yatra.

Ms Rupinder Brar Additional Director General Union Tourism Ministry, Ms Rakul Preet film Actress, Sri K Kalimathu Cultural Secretary Indian Embassy, Dubai, Prasant Ranjan, Director Union Ministry of Tourism, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board’s Additional Director Vivek Singh Chauhan and Nainital District Tourism Officer Brijendra Pandey were also present on the occasion……ends.
