UP Fights Covid: No fresh cases reported from 68 districts

Maintaining the positive recovery trend — high recoveries and a low number of fresh Covid-19 cases — have reduced the Active Covid Caseload in Uttar Pradesh to 159, while the percentage of active cases as against the total confirmed cases in the state is 0 percent.

The Active Covid-19 cases in the most populous state has been brought down by over a remarkable 99 percent from its peak capped at 3,10,783 cases earlier in the month of April.

In a sharp contrast to Uttar Pradesh, sparsely populated states like Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu account for a heavy Active Caseload of 1,49,402, 36,794 and 17,231 respectively.

In another significant development, the Active Covid-19 cases have declined to zero in as many as 33 districts. Whereas about 20 districts of the state are just left with a single active case each.

With emphasis on strict screening, proper treatment and aggressive vaccination, districts, namely, Aligarh, Amethi, Amroha, Auraiya, Baghpat, Ballia, Balrampur, Barabanki, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Hathras, Kanpur Dehat, Kasganj, Jalaun, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Mahoba, Mainpuri , Mirzapur, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Rampur, Sant Kabirnagar, Shamli, Shravasti, Siddharthnagar, Sitapur and Unnao have subsided the fresh and active Covid-19 cases to zero.

It is pertinent to note that apart from Uttar Pradesh, no other state provides data describing covid situation district-wise.

In what comes as another big relief, none of the 75 districts in Uttar Pradesh have reported fresh cases of coronavirus infection in double-digits lately.

Indicating consistent decline, the state of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday recorded as many as 8 fresh cases, testifying success of the multi pronged approach adopted by the state government in limiting the transmission of virus in the densely populated state.

The Fresh cases have declined by more than 38,000 from its peak which was 38,055 on April 24. The state has also been able to restrict the daily Covid case-count below 50 for nearly fifty days in a row.

The lesser number of fresh cases, however, is not because Uttar Pradesh, like other states, has decreased COVID-19 testing. UP under its stringent T3 testing mechanism-’Trace, Test and Treat’ conducted more than 2 lakh Covid tests in the last 24 hours.

Continuing its positive recovery trend, Uttar Pradesh also saw as many as 23 Covid-19 patients discharged, adding up to the recovery of 16,86,749 people so far.

Consequently, the daily test positivity rate (TPR) in Uttar Pradesh too has dipped to lower than 0.01 percent from a high of over 16.84 percent in April.

UP leading the Vax drive with over 10.55 cr doses administered

Making a rapid stride towards elimination of coronavirus, with over 10,55,96,402 doses administered, Uttar Pradesh is leading the country’s vaccination drive at a war-footing.

In addition, the state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine to over 57 percent of the eligible adult population. Over 2.02 crore people in the state have been fully vaccinated.
