Ankit, Mukul, Sandeep, Akash, Abhishek and Yash were arrested and the register recovered from them indicated that betting over Rs 50 lakh has taken place so far in the city. According to practice, adopted money was collected from the betting losers and winners were inspired to use the winning amount for future betting.

Deputy Inspector General (STF) Ridhim Aggarwal said, “The register recovered contains names involved in betting. We are doing further investigations of the names.”

All the arrested persons are young, in the age group of 20-30 years. It is assumed that the betting was conducted by the group for familiar people. The register recovered contains vital information and many big names are likely to pop up in cricket betting in Dehradun. Source The Statesman
