Uttarakhand conferred with GeM Top Buyer-2018 Award

Dehradun: Under Uttarakhand government’s concept of ‘Minimum Government Maximum Governance’, in order to ensure transparency and competitiveness in government work, the arrangements for procurement through Government E-Market (GeM) operated by the union government were made in Uttarakhand Procurement Manual-2017. Efforts of the Uttarakhand government have been appreciated by the Indian government. During a felicitation ceremony organised in New Delhi on June 6, Uttarakhand was honoured. Uttarakhand received the most compliance buyer category in GeM Top Buyer 2018 award. On behalf of Uttarakhand government, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi received the award.

On Thursday, at CM residence, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi met the Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat. Additional Chief Secretary Raturi presented the award trophy to the Chief Minister.

On this occasion, Chief Minister said that Self Help Groups of the state are making quality and cost effective products. Soon, in this, the products being made by Self Help Groups would be included. This would enable world market to the products being made in the state.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said that in order to promote procurement through GeM, the state government has made efforts for the registration and training of the buyer and seller. From January 26, 2018 till May 31, 2018, as many as 446 buyers and 292 sellers were registered. During this period, 323 purchase orders have been issued and procurement of Rs 12.85 crores has been done through GeM. The payments of the sellers have been made by the state government in stipulated time.
