Centre, State government committed to the welfare of poor people: CM

Nanakmatta: To raise the economic and social status of poor people through development, remain the main priority of the central as well as the state governments.  This was stated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat while speaking as a chief guest at a function to felicitate the beneficiaries of central government welfare schemes held to mark the completion of four years of central government at Taj Palace, Nanakmatta, today. He said that it was the dream of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi that by the time India celebrates its 75thindependence anniversary that is in 2022, India should be a developed into a ‘Nav Bharat’. He said that the concept of ‘Nav Bharat’ should be such that there is no poverty and everyone has a home to live with basic facilities of power, water, electricity, toilet and cooking gas. The Chief Minister congratulated the Prime Ministers’ effort for poverty alleviation.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that by August 15 all those families registered under ‘Ujjawala’, ‘Saubhagya’ and ‘Ujala’ schemes will get complete benefits of these schemes. He further said that since the inception of his government efforts are afoot to provide corruption free administration in the state. He said that many corrupt have been jailed and many more will go to jail for corruption.  He said that the state government has provided loans to 1.80 lakh farmers at a rate of only two per cent interest for the upliftment of farmers in the state. He said that despite sugar been cheaper in the market and not yet reached the market from the mills, the state government has released an amount of Rs.40 crores for sugarcane farmers.  He said that farmers producing wheat will also be benefitted on time.

The Chief Minister said that earlier, due to corruption only 50 paisa of the money could be used for development if one rupee was earmarked and even corruption was prevalent in social welfare works. He said that the Prime Minister in a bid to check corruption has stopped the work of middlemen and all the works are now being done digitally. The entire money of any scheme is coming into the account of Gram pardhans and beneficiaries are getting benefits directly into their accounts through DBT schemes. He said that it was due to able leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi that the entire world is praising India while India has made the entire world realize of its strength.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Foreign Minister Mrs. Sushma Swaraj has done wonders and has helped any Indian caught abroad in adverse circumstances immediately to return home. He said that under Mr. Nitin Gadkari, 27 kilomteres of highways are build everyday which was earlier only four kilometers.  Mr. Nitin Gadkari has fixed a target of building 40 kms of highway every day from next year, he said.

 The Chief Minister said that India has become polio free and a target has been fixed to free the country from TB by 2025.  He said that besides providing free medicines to TB patients,a sum of Rs.6000 annually is also paid to them so that they have healthy food which would make them healthy and disease free. He said that Uttarakhand will be the first state in the country which would provide health cover under ‘Ayushman Bharat “ scheme to 20 lakh families by August 15, 2018.

Twenty beneficiaries were provided LPG gas connections under ‘Ujjawala’ Scheme and four meritorious students of the areas were also honored on the occasion.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat announced construction of mini stadium at Nanakmatta, Tharu jan Jati Vikas Bhawan, developing Nanakmatta as a tourist spot, parking facilities for pilgrims at Nanakmatta, construction of CC road and drain at Devbhoomi Dharmshala under Khatima block, concretization of road work from near Shishu Mandir till highway at Jhankat, concretization of road leading to house of Shaheed Mansingh- Kundan Singh Pokhriya at Rattanpur. He said that government orders of these works have been issued.

 He also announced construction of road from Khatima highway till degree college, Nanakmatta TRC to Naugaza Balkhera road, Highway to Bidhoura road and road from Sundernagar to Ananad Nagar, Bengali Colony till National highway 125.

Legislators Dr. Prem Singh Rana, Raj Kumar Thukral, Pushkar Singh Dhami, District Magistrate Dr Neeraj Khiarwal, SSP Sadanand Datte, CDO Alok Kumar Pandey were present on the occasion.
