Dr Jitendra Singh discusses J&K road projects with Shri Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh called on the Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari here today to discuss Road & Highway projects in Jammu & Kashmir, including the status of the two newly approved  National Highways, namely the 170 km Basohli-Bhaderwah-Doda Highway through Chhattergala tunnel and Thathri-Kahaljugssar-Kilothran-Mankan-Chochool to Himachal Pradesh Highway via tunnel respectively.

Shri Nitin Gadkari assured Dr Jitendra Singh of full assistance and cooperation in ensuring timely completion of these two projects, which will be unique not only for the State of Jammu & Kashmir but for the entire country. He said, most of the other projects for Jammu & Kashmir, including the landmark “Zoji La Pass” project have been cleared and the work will start soon.

The Katra-Amritsar-Delhi Express Road Corridor, which is going to be the longest Express Corridor in India, also came up for discussion.
