Take effective measures to recover from losses: Chief Secretary tells Transport Corporation

Dehradun: Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh has issued instructions to Uttarakhand Transport Corporation take effective measures to recover from losses. He said that a study regarding the reasons for the losses should be got done from a high level institute. As per the recommendations, things would be sorted out. He said that Corporations of other states should also be studied. Orders were issued to clear the dues through instalments. Chief Secretary was chairing a meeting of the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation Board at secretariat. In the meeting, it was informed that presently Corporation has 1410 buses. Out of the total buses, 77 buses are Air-Conditioned, 41 buses are semi-deluxe, 46 are Volvo buses and 1246 are general buses. It was decided that in case of accident on duty, financial assistance upto Rs 2 lakh would be given to the driver and conductor. In case of serious injuries, aid of Rs 50000 would be given. In the meeting, Managing Director of Transport Corporation Brijesh Sant and others were present.
